Qatar to host the first Transport, Logistics and Railways Expo in October 2011

Doha, 28 June, 2011

Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Qatar’s First and Only international exhibition for Transport and Logistics ‘Trans4’ will be held at the Doha Exhibition Center, from 17th to 19th October 2011 featuring the four sectors of activity covering the complete chain: Railways, Shipping, Freight and Logistics. Organized by Al Baida Group, Trans4 Expo will showcase latest products, technologies and solutions in Transport and Logistics sector. The Exhibition is held concurrently with “The GCC Transport & Railways conference”, taking place at the Ritz Carleton Hotel in Doha.

Eng. Ali Al Misnad, Chairman of Al Baida Group, said that Trans4 Exhibition has a unique strategic importance as it will be the key business platform for companies wanting to invest and put up a world-class infrastructure and facilities for Transportation and Logistics in the fastest growing economy in the world.

“The transport and logistics sector is steadily growing due to the government initiatives across the sector and sustained infrastructure investments. Logistics and Transport sector is involved in most aspects of our business and social lives. It is an important logistics chain. Al Misnad also pointed that the most significant development in Qatar is the Qatar Railway Network: “This is an ambitious project that will undoubtedly trigger additional development around the numerous communication hubs including massive demand for logistics and shipping, especially after the awarding of the right to host FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatari government’s commitment to building a world-class infrastructure in order to meet the demands of a growing population, resulted in a robust pipeline of infrastructure projects. Qatar Railways Development Company plans to build a local transport system for the purpose of integrating Qatar’s various planned railways into a comprehensive and consolidated national railway system. The project is part of the Government’s plan to connect Qatar to other GCC countries,” he concluded.

Al Baida Group is currently working with international agents as well as local team to promote the exhibition that will be held annually in Doha.
